Economic Study Completed
The completed economic study of Virginia's Eastern Shore by the Virginia Tech Office of Economic Development is available for viewing or downloading from the link at right - Economic Development for the Eastern Shore Summit Report, August 2007.

This report and its recommendations for projects and actions will be used for development of our region's comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a document the federal Economic Development Administration requires of areas which have been awarded the Economic Development District (EDD) designation. The EDD designation makes Eastern Shore of Virginia projects eligible for federal economic development funding.

The CEDS is meant to be a dynamic roadmap for our community to use to keep its economic development efforts on track (see links to examples of other CEDS). It requires yearly updates with citizen input and oversight. A CEDS committee will be convened in the near future to manage the process of keeping the CEDS up-to-date and overseeing the progress of the projects identified in it.

For more information or to serve on the CEDS committee, contact Barbara Schwenk, Economic Development Coordinator at the A-NPDC:
